The China–Europe Railway Express (CRE) marked a decade of operations, highlighting its growing role in strengthening Eurasian connectivity and providing resilient rail freight solutions between China and Europe.


  • Annual train departures increased from 1,702 in 2016 to 20,022 in 2025, connecting 129 Chinese cities with 236 cities across 26 European countries

  • The Trans-Caspian route via Horgos–Xi'an–Baku recorded 85 rail-sea services in Q1 2026, a 150% year-on-year increase

  • The network continues to improve supply chain resilience by expanding multimodal corridors and strengthening connectivity across China, Central Asia and Europe



CargoPoint Expanded into Kazakhstan

CargoPoint opened a new office in Almaty, Kazakhstan, expanding its operational presence across the China–Europe corridor and strengthening regional freight forwarding capabilities.

Kazakhstan and China Expanded Flight Quota

Kazakhstan and China agreed to increase bilateral passenger flight capacity, supporting growing demand and strengthening aviation connectivity between the two countries.


  • The weekly flight quota increased from 124 to 152 scheduled services, a 22.6% expansion

  • Chongqing was added to the list of approved Chinese destinations, bringing the total to 11 cities

  • The agreement also includes plans for a third international air corridor, supporting future capacity growth and more efficient cross-border operations


SCAT Airlines Entered Air Cargo

Kazakhstan's SCAT Airlines announced its entry into the air cargo market by signing an agreement with Boeing to convert a Boeing 767-300ER into a Boeing 767-300BCF freighter.


  • SCAT will become the first operator of the Boeing 767-300BCF in Kazakhstan, supporting dedicated cargo operations

  • The new freighter will serve trade corridors linking Asia, the CIS, the Middle East and Europe, with a focus on general and express cargo

  • The expansion supports Kazakhstan's strategy to strengthen its position as a leading Eurasian aviation and logistics hub



Uzbekistan Airways Added China Code-Share

Uzbekistan Airways and China Southern Airlines signed a bilateral code-share agreement, expanding connectivity between Uzbekistan and China while strengthening transit opportunities through Tashkent.


  • The agreement covers Uzbekistan Airways flights from Tashkent to Beijing Daxing, Guangzhou, Urumqi and Hangzhou, with China Southern placing its code on the routes

  • The partnership is expected to increase transit traffic through Tashkent, supporting its development as a strategic hub between Europe and Asia

  • The agreement strengthens commercial cooperation and expands both airlines' presence across the China–Central Asia market
