Chinese Carriers Place Major Airbus Order

China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines have signed agreements with Airbus for a large-scale fleet expansion, reinforcing long-term capacity growth across international networks.

Total order of 137 Airbus A320neo aircraft, including 102 for China Southern and 35 for Xiamen Airlines

Air Serbia Launched Flights to Azerbaijan

Serbian carrier Air Serbia launched direct regular passenger flights from Belgrade, Serbia to Baku, Azerbaijan VV on 3 May 2026

Fergana Airport to Undergo Major Modernization

Uzbekistan plans to upgrade Fergana Airport with foreign partner involvement, expanding capacity and improving infrastructure at one of the country’s key regional gateways.

New passenger terminal of 20,000 sqm with capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour, doubling current levels

Uzbekistan Airways to Launch Tashkent–Guangzhou Flights

Uzbekistan Airways will introduce a new direct connection between Central Asia and Southern China, strengthening air links between the two regions.


  • New Tashkent–Guangzhou service to start on 27 May 2026

  • Flights to operate once per week with overnight schedule

  • Expands connectivity with Guangdong province, a major industrial and trade hub

  • Supports growing passenger and cargo flows between Uzbekistan and China
