CargoPoint Expands Strategic Footprint with New Almaty Office, Enhancing China-Europe Multimodal Connectivity

The new office strengthens CargoPoint’s presence across Central Asia and adds a new gateway to its existing China-Europe multimodal route.

CargoPoint has opened a new office in Almaty, Kazakhstan, extending its presence into Central Asia's second key market and building directly on the corridor it has operated via Tashkent since pioneering the China–Europe route.

The Almaty office puts CargoPoint's own team on the ground in Kazakhstan – a key gateway for its Truck+Air solution to move China-Europe traffic. Cargo consolidated in Shenzhen and Xi'an travels by road across Khorgos into Kazakhstan, then by air from Almaty and Astana airports to points in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Americas. The route, until now coordinated from CargoPoint’s Tashkent Headquarters, shortens the transit time between China and Europe by at least two days.

CargoPoint’s Truck+Air product, often referred to as a “deferred” air freight service, offers an alternative route for shippers seeking to avoid traditional constraints like the Russian rail or Red Sea ocean lanes. It combines the speed of air freight with the cost-efficiency of road transport, making it an ideal choice for non-urgent yet time-sensitive shipments.

The two offices now split ownership of the route rather than one team managing both ends: via-Uzbekistan and via-Kazakhstan shipments are each handled locally, on the ground where they move.

CargoPoint expects volumes through Almaty to grow as more shippers move freight away from congested maritime routes and airspace affected by ongoing geopolitical disruptions. The company says it intends to serve new and existing clients from its Almaty office and continue building out routing options via Central Asian gateways for its Truck+Air multimodal service between China and Europe.
